Don’t you just wish summer would just stay a little bit longer? With fall right around the corner, so is the start of cooler weather. Before we kiss summer weather goodbye, there are several ways we can take advantage of the last days of sunshine and heat. Best of all, they are all free.
- Head to the beach. If you live close to the ocean, head to the beach this weekend! Quite frankly, we take the beach for granted here in South Florida. It’s one of life’s free luxuries that we should appreciate. Pack a few snacks and drinks and enjoy the ocean breeze and warm sun.
- Pool & Ice cream fun. Love the water but not the sand? Take a dip in a pool and bring along Mayfield Creamery Premium Ice Cream and Mayfield Sundae Delights for a scoop of fresh sweet cream and rich, indulgent taste to cool off. My personal favorite is the Mayfield Sundae Delights Original Fudge! My gosh. It was the perfect way to enjoy summer poolside with my loves.
- Have a Picnic Date. Picnics are not just for romantic daytime dates, but also family fun days at the park or recreational areas in your neighborhood. Make sandwiches, pack a blanket and frisbie and have a fun filled day with your loved ones.
- Outdoor Walks. Boy oh boy! This is one most of us do not take advantage of, yet it has a number of benefits for our physical and mental health. Put on proper shoes and fly solo or with a friend, and take a walk around your block.
- Fly a Kite. This is one of my fondest childhood memories and now we are creating similar memories with my kiddos who love to make and fly kites. The best time is before sundown when the wind picks up a bit during the golden hour.
- Catch Butterflies. There’s no denying, children love to run, and what better adventure than to chase butterflies. Grab a net and let them catch and release them. This is also a great way for our kiddos to burn energy!
- Bike Ride. Go for a bike ride either solo or with your family. The weather is perfect for this outdoor pastime. No bike, no problem. Roller blade, or ride a scooter but do it outdoors.
Hoping you take full advantage of these last days of summer and enjoy them well-spent outdoors! Plus, these plans are easy on your wallet and will help you create cherishable memories.
