My husband and I had been dreaming of taking a cruise again, and finally after 6 years, we finally embarked on a Royal Caribbean cruise earlier this month. With so many ports here in Florida, there are several options to choose from – from a weekend getaway to a week long cruise (or longer!) plus a variety of destinations, entertainment and excursions that make cruising an incredible vacation. Here are 5 reasons why you should consider taking a cruise on your next vacation.
Best bang for your buck
Cruises are relatively affordable, when you take into account the lodging, seafare transportation, meals and resort feel. Depending on the cruise line, nights, and season you can find bargain fares for you and your loved ones. When you consider the general expenses of a vacation, you will most likely find cruises are within your travel budget.
All-inclusive
This is one of the reasons we cruise. Everything is included in the price. Different cruises offer premium services onboard, however, what is included in the price per person is the lodging, food, travel, onboard amenities, access to the pools and hot tubs, entertainment, shows, athletic and recreation facilities, and more.
Disconnect
One of our favorite parts of cruising is the fact that there is no cell phone connectivity and the wifi is extra. If you are truly trying to enjoy your vacation, the best way is to disconnect. A cruise forces you to unplug because who wants to pay at least $15/day for internet when you are vacationing? It’s absurd.
Unlimited food
If you cook daily, you will love this! You don’t have to worry about prepping meals because cruises offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner at their restaurants and unlimited food at their buffet stations from early morning to wee hours at night. It feels good taking a break from cooking!
Itinerary for each day
There’s no need to stress about what your day will look like. Every cruise offers a selection of onboard entertainment, shows, such as: comedy shows, off-broadway shows, musicals, live bands, interactive game shows, karaoke, sports competitions, etc. There is a different daily itinerary and it takes the load off planning out your day.
If you are in Florida, we recommend checking out Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines or Norwegian Cruise Lines. We’ve set sail from Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, and Tampa and although all are great, Tampa has been our favorite port thus far in regards to swift check in and out and customer service. Start planning your next vacation cruise now.
